Top 5 Live Resin Strains to Try This Spring in Canada

Spring in Canada brings fresh energy, longer days, and the perfect opportunity to refresh your cannabis routine. If you have been curious about live resin, this season is a great time to explore what Canadian licensed producers have to offer. Live resin preserves the full terpene and cannabinoid profile of the fresh cannabis plant, delivering flavour and effect that dried flower and distillates simply cannot match.

Here are five live resin strains worth trying this spring.

1. Pink Kush Live Resin

A Canadian classic for a reason. Pink Kush is one of the most beloved indica-dominant strains in the country, and in live resin form it truly shines. Expect a rich, sweet, and floral terpene profile with strong notes of vanilla and earthy wood. The effects lean heavily toward full-body relaxation, making it ideal for unwinding after a long day or managing stress as your schedule picks back up in spring. THC content in live resin form typically runs high, so new concentrate users should start slow.

Best for: Evening use, stress relief, body relaxation

2. Blue Dream Live Resin

Blue Dream has earned its reputation across North America as one of the most approachable and well-balanced strains available. As a sativa-dominant hybrid, it delivers a gentle cerebral lift without tipping into anxiety or overwhelm. In live resin form, the blueberry and sweet herbal terpenes come through beautifully, making it one of the most flavourful options on this list. It is a great daytime choice for creative work, social outings, or enjoying the first warm days of spring outdoors.

Best for: Daytime use, creativity, social settings

3. Gelato Live Resin

Gelato is a strain that has taken the Canadian cannabis market by storm, and its live resin extract is particularly impressive. This hybrid leans slightly indica but delivers a balanced head and body effect that is euphoric without being sedating. The terpene profile is dessert-forward with sweet citrus, berry, and creamy notes that make every session feel like a treat. If you are looking for something to elevate a spring evening without putting you to sleep, Gelato live resin deserves a spot in your rotation.

Best for: Evening relaxation, mood elevation, flavour seekers

4. Sour Diesel Live Resin

For those who prefer a more energizing and uplifting experience, Sour Diesel live resin is a standout choice. This legendary sativa-dominant strain is known for its sharp, fuel-forward aroma with hints of citrus and earthiness. In live resin form, those pungent terpenes are amplified and the fast-acting cerebral effects make it a strong option for morning use or tackling an active spring day. It is not for the faint-hearted in terms of flavour, but concentrate enthusiasts tend to love it.

Best for: Morning use, energy, focus and motivation

5. Wedding Cake Live Resin

Wedding Cake rounds out this list as one of the most potent and flavour-rich options available in Canadian dispensaries this season. This indica-dominant hybrid is known for its tangy, earthy sweetness with undertones of vanilla and pepper. The live resin version captures these complex terpenes exceptionally well. Effects are deeply relaxing and euphoric, making it a go-to for patients and recreational users alike who want a powerful, full-spectrum experience. Given its typically high THC levels, this one is best reserved for experienced concentrate users.

Best for: Night use, deep relaxation, experienced consumers
